I am slightly pillow obsessed, OK who am I kidding I am a junkie! Honestly, how could you not be? There are so many gorgeous prints and the impact they have on any space is just plain magical. Needless to say, between sewing and buying I have built up quite the collection of decorative pillows over the years. As the mood bites me I like to give a room a little “do-over.” This usually just means moving some stuff around, possibly pulling a rug from a different room and at the most purchasing a new rug. But what really changes the room is the addition of decorative pillows on your couch (or bed if you are doing your bedroom).
As I have an extensive collection, most of the time I can fish through my linen closet and find something appropriate. However, the other day I was fishing around and did see the perfect cases, unfortunately, they were standard pillowcases not the decorative 20×20 or even 18×18 inch that I needed.
Problem. Then I thought, couldn’t I just fold it in some sort of way? I did and was flabbergasted to find out that it worked out perfectly! What?! Why after so many years as a pillow aficionado had I not heard of this or figured it out sooner. It was transformative! I went around the house touching up all the beds and spanking them into visions of near perfectionism. Did I scare the kids a bit? Absolutely! But they are still small and will recover.
In any case, this is how you can make this revolution happen in your own home in under 30 seconds flat! You’re welcome.
