With just 4 seams to sew per pillow, this pair of pillowcases literally can be finished in under 30 minutes. The best part is that you only need one yard of fabric. I actually only had a ½ yard of the fabric that I wanted to use so I had to make do with a plain white fabric to make up the difference. Although, I kind of like the contrast and the versatility of the two sides.
The border not only helps the two sides look more cohesive but the fold-over technique gives your cases a more professional look while saving time.
What You Will Need
1 yard of fabric or 2 ½ yards of any complimenting fabrics. Below are instructions for 2 different fabrics Pins / Thread Scissors or cutting mat
From each fabric cut 2 20×28” and 2 20×10” rectangles
Fold over the smaller rectangle lengthwise wrong sides together and pin to the 20-inch side of the larger rectangle with wrong sides facing.
Sew along the edge. First of 3 seams is done. This is almost too easy!
Repeat with other sides but making sure to switch colors.
Iron down seams.
Now pin both sides together wrong sides facing. Sew along the 3 remaining seams to complete. Trim corners and flip case to right side. Repeat with other pillow and there you are done and done!
